King Ahaz sacrificed his son (I Kings 16:3). His grandson, King Manasseh, sacrificed his two sons, two generations later (II Kings 21:6; II Chronicles 33:6) It was mainly the pagan god, Molech, that demanded this sacrifice (II Kings 23:10). Other false gods also required it (II Kings 17:31; Jeremiah 19:5).
